Come visit our winery with our winemaker, Andrew Halliwell, who will show you first-hand our way of working and understanding an area where some of the best wines in the world are made. Throughout the visit there will be tasting of tanks, barrels and finally the bottled wine.
Bodegas Óbalo is an ideal environment to give an exclusive touch to the celebration of board meetings, company meetings, presentations, as well as exhibitions and private celebrations. We have several rooms equipped with the necessary technical means to cover any event.

Obalo La Encina reflects our way of understanding the Riojan Sonsierra. It is a modern wine that seeks the maximum expression of the combination of vineyards from which it comes.
We make each plot that makes up this wine separately, knowing that each of them gives us different qualities. With all of them we create a balanced wine full of nuances.
From the halls of our winery, it is possible to see this vineyard which is located in the heart of the Riojan Sonsierra and takes its name from two oaks that are located in its surroundings. It is a plot close to half a century old with an interesting depth of soil and excellent sunshine, all of this makes it possible for us to have, year after year, an optimum level of ripening and also allow us to produce a wine full of nuances.
Combined with other vines that complete its mature and round character, we produce a wine with 12 months of aging that goes far beyond the ‘Crianza’ category to which it belongs.
Deep cherry color and deep layer. Aromas of red pome fruits, cherry and plum, with a subtle contribution of wood in the background.
Wide and forceful in the mouth, with good length throughout the palate, with the fruit predominating over the spicy notes of the barrel, which complement and extend it in the end. Harmonious and with a good aftertaste.
14 months in new French oak barrels and up to 3 uses.
