  • Salon Peñin will take place on 23 and 24 October at Ifema’s Pavilion 2 in Madrid

Obalo Reserva 2011, made at Bodegas Obalo and at the heart of the D.O.C.a Rioja, has obtained 93 points in the recently published Guía Peñin 2018, the results of which will be officially presented on 23 and 24 October at the 17th edition of the Salón de los mejores vinos de España in Madrid (Ifema’s Pavilion 2). The Guide has categorised as Unique wines those that obtain 93 or 94 points; therefore, Obalo Reserva has obtained this distinction, maintaining the rating it has obtained in recent years.

Obalo Reserva is the best-rated wine made by Bodegas Obalo, and it maintains its commitment towards quality, which has been recognised by national and international consumer motivators and the renowned American publication by placing it among the three wines it considers “highly recommendable”. With a score of 93 points, the publication highlighted its harmonious character, formidable structure and incredible concentration.

Obalo Crianza 2014, with 92 points and five stars, the highest rating in terms of value for money, is another wine made by Bodegas Obalo that has been highlighted by Guía Peñin 2018, continuing with its upward progression by improving its rating with respect to Guía Peñin 2017.

On the other hand, Obalo 2016, the youngest wine made at the bodega, obtained 89 points and 4 stars in terms of value for money.

Bodegas Obalo is located at the heart of Rioja Sonsierra, where the tradition of a region started. This region has produced some of the best wines in the world for centuries, and it currently applies an innovative approach. As a result, it makes wines with a marked personality. They are modern wines obtained by combining the vineyard’s tradition and the bodega’s youthfulness, which are a faithful reflection of the vintages’ climate whims.
